We take great pride in our history and the legacy of our family custom metal fabrication business. Our company is now in its fourth generation of James’s, all of whom have worked in metal fabrication. It all started during World War II when our great grandfather worked in shipbuilding in Wilmington. After the war, he moved to Charlotte and began working in the steel erecting business. It wasn’t long before he realized that his true passion was custom ornamental ironwork, and he opened his own iron shop with his two sons.

Throughout the 50s and 80s, our family built handrails, fencing, and decorative columns all over the Charlotte area. In the late 70s, our current president/owner began working for the family business and brought in new ideas and innovations. In the early 90s, he modernized the business by introducing aluminum welding and using powder coating treatments to create highly durable products. This led to the expansion of our business into new markets, including commercial and coastal regions where noncorrosive materials were in high demand.

Today, our business is still going strong with two grandsons and five great-grandsons working in the same industry over 70 years later. We continue to uphold our family legacy and provide the highest quality metal fabrication services to our clients. We take pride in our history and look forward to continuing to innovate and grow for generations to come.
